My Top Movies 2013 List

There is quite an exciting list which includes a lot of popular actors and directors and the types of movies range from action to adventure. So what exactly are the top movies for 2013?

Oz The Great and Powerful

A must watch

Time: 130 minutes
Genre: Science Fiction

Three witches are in the midst of a power struggle. Each wants to hold power over destiny and control the others. Their fights are deadly and they have consequences. A small time magician struggling up the magic ladder in a small town bites more than he can chew. The magician’s act leads him to an enchanted land far away and right in the middle of the witch battle. The magician must choose whose side he is own. The Question is, does he know what is good for him? Or will ultimately the enchantment of power lead him to his doom? Time is running out for the ambitious and dreamy small town guy and his decision will change his life forever, for good or bad is up to him.
Rachel Waisez fits into her role excellently and leaves the viewers with a nice taste to remember. She is bold and forward and her character fits right into what her fans had been hoping to see. The support cast cannot be over looked as they spice up the show with the different twists and turns. Magic is felt at every corner of the movie and the audience is swept in by the power struggle.
A must watch for science fiction fanatics.

Beautiful Creatures - February 14, 2013 Release

Last but certainly not least is Richard LaGravenese's Beautiful Creatures and I bet you did not see that one coming based on the line up so far. But here is why this fantasy drama makes it on the list. Everyone can agree that meeting a mysterious new girl with a dark secret is bound to get you tickled to find out just what she could be hiding. Curiosity is what will make most movie goers flock to the cinema to watch this movie.

The cast is a mix of some unknown names such as the stars Alden Ehrenreich who plays Ethan Wate and Alice Englert who plays the focus Lena Duchannes as well as the very known and award winning actress, Emma Thompson. I think movie goers should come out in their numbers to support the leads in their quest to achieve superstardom. Although Alice Englert is the daughter of Oscar-winning Director, Jane Campion and film-maker Colin Englert, she is yet to make her stamp in the movie world. Alden also has some proving to do before his name starts rolling off the tip of your tongue.
Look out for this movie in cinemas on Valentine's Day 2013, it is a refreshing diversion from the twilight phenomenon that may warm your heart and have you rooting just a little for the dark side.
